How Is Teeth Whitening Done?
We recommend Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed in-office procedures or take-home procedures to see results in only a few days.
Home Whitening:
A custom made mouth tray is created. A whitening gel is placed in the tray, which you then wear whilst asleep or for short periods during the day. Results are normally seen over two weeks.
In-Office (chairside) Whitening
By using a powerful ZOOM whitening gels with its specialized laser to activate the gel that allows bleaching to take place faster.
First, we photograph your teeth to help us monitor the progress of the treatment, examine your teeth and ask you questions to find out what caused the staining.
Next, cleaning your teeth to remove the film of bacteria, food, and other substances that buildup on your teeth, this contributes to staining. Once this is done, the whitening procedure begins.
We will apply a substance that covers and protect the gums around the teeth.
Then the whitening gel will be placed on the teeth. After that we shine the laser beam. This procedure usually takes 30 to 90 minutes. Instructions will be given after treatment.
Re-whitening can be done from time to time if you want to maintain a brighter color either by in-office or at home whitening.
